Ratchets are used with sockets. The ratchet, along with the socket attached to it, is the movement arm that alloys you to apply torque. The reversible mechanism alloys the socket to rotate both ways, to tighten and to loosen. The design and dimensions on 3/8"" ratchets are ideal for doing assembly and maintenance work on electronic, pneumatic-electric, and electricity-controlled equipment. The maximum recommended torque for 3/8"" ratchets is 1800 in-lbs. There are two attachment systems for sockets and accessories; the traditional spring-loaded ball detent and the quick release system that alloys you to attach and detach sockets and accessories to the ratchet. Ideal when working with grease and oil.
